Jersey Girl
If there is one thing that makes me happy, it’s a good beach day at the Jersey shore. I live about 30 minutes from the beach in New Jersey and my summers are filled with endless trips down the shore. For my passion project I wanted to practice my design skills by creating posters for 4 of my favorite beaches. Each Poster has little elements that represent specific experiences that I have had with each beach town. I had so much fun pulling all of my summer stories into these posters. I will always be a Jersey Girl at heart.
Manasquan has been my favorite beach more recently. My friends and I love to see the sun rise and sunsets here and we always take what we call the "secret path" to access the beach. I chose to include two chairs because I always say maturing is bringing a chair to the beach and this is the place I have been going as I have grown up a bit. I also included the "Squan" sign as this is what I refer to this beach as.
Long Branch to me has always been the family beach. I always seem to spend days at Long Branch with my family or my friends and our moms. I included the famous pier and a sunset as we often stay all night for dinner.
Belmar to me means getting dropped off by my mom with a big group of girls in high school. Similar to the chairs in Manasquan I have bright pink towels here to represent me going when I was younger. The buildings along the boardwalk are some of my favorite restaurants in Belmar: Playa Bowls, Stay Gold Café, and Coney Waffle Ice Cream.
Long Beach Island is definitely more of a vacation spot for me than what I consider home, but I fell in love with it the first time I visited. I included the beach house that we stayed in the first time we went and the famous Fantasy Island ferris wheel.
